Intrepid Spirit, Inc. is a trail running events company based in Baguio City. We run three events a year, and between them they cover everything from a first 5 km on forest singletrack to a 164.85 km Hardrock 100 qualifier.
Baguio Backyard Ultra (BBU). 8th January 2027, Camp John Hay, Baguio City. The Philippines’ original backyard ultra, first run in December 2019. The format is simple and merciless: a 6.706 km trail loop, on the hour, every hour, until one runner is left. There is no set distance and no finish line until there is a sole survivor.
VJ100 Ultra Trail Challenge (VJ100 UTC). 9th –10th January 2027, Camp John Hay, Baguio City. Five categories from 5.3 to 101.33 km, every one built on a signature 10 km loop through the pine forest of the Camp John Hay Forest Reservation at around 1,500 m. The 100 km carries 6,542 m of climb and 3 ITRA points. Beautiful but beastly.
Philippine Mountain Trail Festival (PMTF). 30th April – 2nd May 2027, Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya. Three events over one weekend: Hardcore Ultra Trail (HUT), Cascade Trail Challenge (CTC) and Philippine Mountain Trail (PMT). Six categories from 13.55 to 164.85 km, all starting and finishing at Kayapa Central School. Every category is ITRA rated and UTMB Index scoring, and H1 is one of only two Hardrock 100 qualifiers in Asia.
Clean trails, marked routes, and a welcome that works the same for a first-timer and a hundred-miler.
