  • Trail Shoes (need good “grippy” trail shoes for these trails).
  • Poles are optional (some steep sections but can all be done without poles).
  • Running vest or naked belt.
  • Any drinks required (water, electrolytes, etc.) – note these are 10 km loops and we can resupply every 10 km, if necessary, also a 7-11 is close to the start.
  • Any food required (gels, nuts, etc.).
  • Wind breaker (recommended as it can be cool in the mountains).
  • Suntan lotion, anti-chaffing cream, salt tablets, any medical kit, etc.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the breathtaking trails of Camp John Hay in Baguio.  This picturesque location offers some of the most enchanting local trails you could ever dream of exploring.  Brace yourself for an exhilarating challenge as we introduce you to the renowned VJ100 Ultra Trail Challenge, a 100KM race that pushes your limits within the captivating confines of Camp John Hay.  This race consists of 10 loops, each spanning a demanding 10KM loop course with 700 m of elevation gain and loss per loop.

To kick off your adventure, we have prepared a delightful warm-up.  We will conquer three loops of this invigorating course, providing you with a fantastic introduction to the challenges that lie ahead.  Each loop takes approximately two hours to complete, making this a comfortable and enjoyable six-hour run. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to refuel and rehydrate, with additional food and drinks available after each loop.  Feel free to indulge in a leisurely lunch after a couple of loops, savoring the delectable flavors of Baguio.

This experience is designed to sharpen your climbing and descending skills, as most of the loop is comprised of thrilling trails (with just a small section of road).  After our invigorating run, we’ll have a chance to unwind and replenish our energy.  Indulge in a well-deserved lunch and take some time to relax and recharge.

Following this, we’ll embark on a scenic journey to the quaint township of Kayapa, where we’ll enjoy a delightful meal before retiring early for a restful night’s sleep.  Tomorrow holds the promise of a thrilling three-day tour through the magnificent mountain trails of Kayapa, Itogon and Kabayan.

Prepare to be captivated by the wonders of nature, as you embark on this trail running adventure.  Let the warmth of our hospitality and the persuasive charm of our surroundings allow us to guide you through an unforgettable experience that will leave you yearning for more.
